Once upon a time, in a kingdom far away, lived a kind young girl named -
Cinderella
…who was bossed by her stepmother, bullied by her stepsisters, and grounded on the night of the most important dance of the year!!!
Childrens Playtime Productions proudly presents an original adaptation by Jan Coloccia of the classic fairy tale in which the heroine, Cinderella, passionately yearns for a way out of her life of dutiful drudgery . . . and, if that way out leads to a the arms of a handsome Prince – that wouldn’t be so bad! Luckily, she has the help of a magical fairy godmother, mice, lizards, and a big pumpkin…provided she can return home before midnight – oh, and claim ownership of the glass slipper! Of course, it wouldn’t be a CPP adaptation without lessons to be gleaned. Even though Cinderella turns into the most beautiful girl at the ball, we learn that it is not because she is the prettiest girl in the kingdom that she finds true love – rather, it is because she has the kindest, most generous, heart. This lesson and more are fully explored in the accompanying support materials provided to all teachers and designed with State Standards in mind.
